My mother has filed for bankruptcy, we have a meeting with the Trustee at the end of January. You are not the Trustee, I picked you randomly from a list on a website. What questions can she expect from the Trustee?
And I think my mother's lawyer mislead us about my mother's property. She lives in NM and owns a house in CO, she is currently renting that house. She owes x amount on the house and was behind 2 payments, we told the lawyer all of this. We were told not to worry, catch up on the payments and don't get behind again, no problem. We are doing that and are now caught up. But we now receive a letter basically saying get out of the house we want it and pay our lawyer. We were never told this would happen, we were told the house was safe because of exemptions. When I called the lawyer, finally getting her on the phone and not one of her "paralegals", she rudely says this always happens, don't worry about it, she'll file a motion of objection, she can take care of the legal fees not the late fees and will tell the judge the mortgage company jumped the gun to get more money and there won't be anymore problems. Is this true?
I don't know who to talk to for the truth and this house is the only thing my mother has left, she's 70 and if she gets sick like my father, I was hoping this house would be able to help us.
Can you answer these questions or guide me to someone who can?
