What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York
I just recently bought a home across from a high school baseball field, if a ball flies across the street and damages my property who is responsible? The school says they are not, they told me I should've thought about that before buying a house across from a baseball field. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Technically the person who hit the ball at your house would be responsible. Have a similar problem with a friend who lives adjacent to a golf course. It's hard to hold a private course responsible in this circumstance and you'll find suing a public school even harder.
