What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MO

This is actually a surprise that I am needing to post this. I am considering contacting an attorney wanted the sage advice of my fellows here.

I had a local attorney make a post on facebook today that accused me of "criminal fraud." He then ended his post with "YOU LIE."

I asked him privately to remove the comment and rewrite so that it didn't accuse me of a crime. He refused - posting the entire exchange to facebook.

This poses a difficultly for me as readers of this particular facebook page include a number of people with whom I applied for internships. And I am undergoing a rather intense background check this spring. So, specific damages may be hard to nail down and frankly, I am wondering if it is worth pursuing.

I already sent Facebook a DCMA notice regarding his posting the full text of my mail requesting he remove the post.

I'll pm the link to a very select few senior members.

Thoughts?
