What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Md
I received a check in the mail for about 6% of what the NCP owed in support.
I pulled up my case on case search and I see that a body attachment was issued, she was committed, 3 days later released. It says 'order for release; defendant to pay purge of $XXX.00 (amount of the check I received). It then says 'found in Contempt - Lump sum Order'. According to the CSE website, it says she paid another payment one week after the first payment.
My question - Is purge and lump sum individual payments? I am wondering why she paid the additional monies 1 week after paying that initial 6%.
I called the CSEO and they don't really tell me anything. I had sent them a registered letter in July asking to be informed if anything happened with my case. Nada, I didn't get notified of the above.
I explained to the woman at the CSEO what the issues were with my ex and all the problems she is having, and that it is costing the county more to collect from her than the amount I get. She suggested I write the Judge a letter telling him what I want! I told her I have an atty and wouldn't it be better if he did that. She said yes. I'm not sure what she is suggesting I ask the Judge? Wow, If it that easy just to write the Judge to get what you wanted, wouldn't everyone be doing that!
