What is the name of your state? GA

I'm not saying I'm doing it or not...I seem to have a stalker that won't honor my repeated requests of not contacting me. So I'm just seeing what my options are.

Does anyone know what avenues I would need to take to change my son's last name? I'm not talking adoption, I'm just talking about changing it to my name.

TIA, and for those who know us...He just tuned 2 yesterday!! So happy birthday to BabyBug!!

You need the approval of the other parent and/or a court order. If the other parent doesn't approve, and you can prove to a judge that it is in the childs best interests, a judge may order the name change.

CMSC, I closed those accounts cuz rad hacked into my account. I can't PM you my new addy, can you PM or email me so I can have your addy, that way I'll send you mine.

VG, I read somewhere that is the other parent has no rights then no say. Is this true. In the state of GA, if the parents were never married then the father has no rights and has to legitimize the child and also sue for visitation. So under those circumstances, would it make any differance? I KNOW I wouldn't have the consent of the other party...he won't even stop calling my home after the police told him to do so..

Anyway, thank you for your help.
