Dear To Whom it may concern,
I have a question on discrimination. I feel everyone should be treated equal in this world, but in a lot of cases that doesn’t happen. This is my situation me and this person got into a scrap. I didnt hit him he was the one that choked me. A week later me and the person had to appear in court. The court decided that both me and him would do community service. We both was assigned the same amount of hours.(didnt really see that one fair when he started it) I thought he would get more hours than i would since he was the one who caused the problem. I was shocked to hear that they had dropped his community services hours. I would say that he did 5hours of community service, before they dropped his hours. I don’t see that as right when they tell me I have to be at community service or they will put me in jail. I’m really tired of this town always discriminating on me. I would never think that a court house would do that. I don’t see why he doesn’t have to do his hours. I don’t see myself more special than him. And I don’t see him more special than me. We are both equal and should be treated equal. There should be a stop in this, because it not right.
My community service was at the Town dump handling garbage and his was inside a court house cleaning carpets. Why couldnt mines be at the court house and his be at the dump? Sometimes I'm afraid to go to the dump just to dump my garbage because they are always telling me. "oh your going to go to jail and if you dont finish your hours". And his community service was easy and was dropped but than they tell me I must complete all of my hours or I will go to jail. I am African American, the other person is between white and Mexican. In this community 98% white and 2% black. There is 3to4 black families in the community.
And they dropped his hours because they felt like like it. I don't see that as fair at all. Especially when he was the one that caused the problem for us having to go to court in the first place. He isn’t anymore special than I am. Probably a different color. But that shouldn’t really matter. Would that be a form of Color Discrimination? And would I be able to sue the Town Court?
I dont have a court or jail record where the judge can look at and say that his person been in and out of trouble his whole life. So his punishment should be harsh. I have been to court for fix it tickets but that is about it. The other person have been caught stealing road signs which is major crime and other offenses. And that is the person hours they drop. He got his dropped because of his race. It's unfair the other person doesnt serve his punishment but i have to. But i see that the way things are in this town if your not the same race as they are, they look down on you like your garabe. And they discriminate against you. I can't go to anyone around here for help(such as a direct attorney or something like that), because it's a small town and everyone knows everyone. And plus im a different color from them too. So I cant talk to anyone about my problem.
