What is the name of your state? Nevada

My fiancee and I are about to get married. She is a US citizen, I am not. I entered the US on a tourist visa waiver 70 days ago. I understand we both have to file a lot of paperworks to adjust my status so :

1) Can I legally stay in the US after we file eventhough my I94 will expire ?
2) How long will it take until I get a work permit (she was previously married to a Canadian in 2000, and it tool 1 month for him to get his work permit)
3) The G-325A document asks for an alien number, what am I suppose to write ?

Thank you very much for your help...

1. Yes, you'll be able to file for adjustment of status even once your I-94 expires as long as you can prove a lawful entry.
2. Once you file, it should be about 90 days before you get your work permit.
3. YOu do not yet have an alien number (this will be assigned to you once you file for permanent residence)

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or how I can be of further assistance to you in this matter.

Thank you for your info. Also, I am guessing that I should not leave the US during the whole process (which I guess can take a long time). Do you have any idea about how long or until which papers have been approved should I NOT leave the US ? What about family death or other sorts of emergencies?

You are not to travel internationally until you are actually approved for permanent residence. How long it will take for you to get permanent residence largely depends on where your petition will be reviewed since different district offices have different processing times.
