What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York. I got pulled over for speeding the officer ended up giving me ticket for my tints but he never tested to see what percentage thy actually were even though I know there darker then 70 percent do I have a chance to have it dropped in court or I'm I just wasting time and should plea GUILTY and pay the fine? If so how much should I be expecting to pay?

Where was the ticket issued? Was it in NYC or elsewhere?

I don't need a tintmeter to write someone for illegal tints. I can articulate how I know the tint wasn't legal.

It's a minor equipment violation. If the ticket was issued in NYC the fine will be listed on the back. If elsewhere you will have to call the court to find out what fine that particular court imposes.

Now ya sees it....now yas don't.

Plead guilty and pay the fine.

Section 375 (12-a) of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law does not allow a windshield or front side windows that are dark.
• The windshield and front side windows cannot block more than 30% of the light.
o Seventy percent or more of the light from the outside must pass through the window.
• This law also applies to the rear window unless the vehicle has outside rear-view mirrors on both sides.
o The mirrors must give the driver a full and clear view behind the vehicle.
• Rear side windows must also allow at least seventy percent of light from the outside to pass through the window if the vehicle is classified as a
o station wagon
o sedan
o hardtop
o coupe
o hatchback
o convertible
