Ran my credit without asking me

OK this is a persoonal question. For some reason, I got a letter in the mail from cingular stating that they ran my credit for service. I never did! I never applied, never gave them permission, nothing!

Is there anything I can do or a course of action I can take?

Yep, call them and ask why they ran your credit. You might be a victim of ID theft.
