I had gotten a divorce in 1997.Since all of this I have went on with my life I moved to California and my ex-husband lives in Georgia.I need help with this I am a full time student and a manager at my job.I have called my ex to see if I could speak to my child he got custody basically illegally.He want let me have visitation or anything no pictures of any sort.I send a letter to my child every other week and to top it off my ex and his new wife have moved and left no forwarding address or phone number isn't this illegal for him to do without notifing me of our childs were abouts?I can't afford an attorney at all.And I have a new fiance and he has two children that I take care of also.But,what can I do to get either custody of our child or at least visitation with our child here in California?PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!This is taking such a toll on me because he has kept my child from me for 3 and a half years.

your pretty much going thru the same thing I am, only difference is that I have custody of my child and his father took him from me 2 year's ago, I 've tried fileing a missing children's report, but it dosent seem to help.
even though I had a court order, I still had to get a lawer and a detective, what you should do ,if you have visitation right's , is to file a petition with the court and then call the missing children's center for the state your liveing in, the more effort you put into it , the better your case is. There are so many way's to find someone for Free, especially if you have access to the internet..... I could show you how I found my son if you'd like,,,, but it takes time and patience.... If you want, you could give me there names, both your ex and his wifes,,, her maiden name could be helpful to, I have a friend who is a private detective, and I'm sure he'll help. I'll help anyone who goes thru this, because I've been there, and it could empty your pocket's quick.

Do you pay child support for your son? If so, where do you send it? If it is to the Court (like I do) the father has to keep a current address on file with the court. They will not forward a child support check.

Check the internet and see if your court is online. We are in different states but mine is listed: www.yourcountyname.gov. There's a possibility you can look up your case through that and see if there have been any address changes.
