I was hit head on last September (other party was completely at fault) and hired an attorney to help me because I couldn't get the other party's insurance company to even contact me. They did pay off my totaled truck. Now I've been released by all my doctors and I'm trying to get the personal injury settlement. I had close to $15,000 in medical bills, will have lasting pain in my foot and am still suffering (slightly) from hitting my head. I am also behind at least six months of working on my small hobby farm because I was unable to walk. There are other incidentals such as having to have my mother drive me everywhere because I couldn't drive (for which I would like to reimburse her), a few weeks lost wages, etc. (The other driver was also cited for being under the influence of alcohol and I have a perfectly clean driving record of 30+ years.)
Can anyone tell me what a fair settlement offer would be? I just have no idea--I'm not out for blood, just what is fair.
Thanks!

Without having your medical files, it would be impossible to guess the value of your claim. Your attorney should be able to give you an idea of the amount he would recommend you settle for.
