I was recently fired from my job in Colorado for no given reason. I asked my former boss as to the reasons why and he refused to tell me. Everyone at work could not find a reason either -they were as surprised as I was. He did though give me a nice letter of recommendation. The day after I was fired, my ex supervisor called me at home and proceeded to yell and scream at me for over 1/2 hour. is that right?

No, it wasn't right. I don't know if your state is an at-will state like California is. That at-will policy means that an employer can terminate you at any time, with or without a reason. And of course, you can quit at any time with or without a reason. What your boss did, especially since you no longer had any legal relationship with him, was uncalled for.
