What is the name of your state? Virginia

I was driving downhill in Alleghany county (SP?). The speed limit was 65 and I was clocked going 91. I received a reckess driving citation. What are the ramifications of this, realistically. I have glanced at the laws, but I was wondering what the realistic fines, suspensions, or jail time I could receive. I moved to Virignia a little over a month ago and still have my Indiana Drivers Liscense and Indiana tags. As of now I am going to be out of the country, on my court date. If anyone has any advise on what I can do, send in the guilty plea via mail, hire a lawyer, or just go myself and take the court judgement. Prior to this I have a deferred ticket in Indiana from about 18 months ago and I do not think that will show up on my record. I also have a speeding ticket from about 4 years ago. I am a 22 year old male. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Virginia considers reckless driving a serious charge.

Reckless driving is a Class 1 misdemeanor - in the same classification as a DWI charge.

The penalty for reckless driving is up to one year in jail, and/or up to $2,500 in fines. Reckless driving also carries the possibility of a suspension of driving privileges for up to 6 months. Sorry, I can't be more specific than that, but the above is the range that VA law gives.

It also carries six demerit points that stays on your record for 11 years.

Reckless driving - speeding in excess of 80 mph

Hire an attorney for the best outcome and he/she may be able to go to court on your behalf.

Could you post what the outcome was for you and whether you appeared in court. Did you enter a no lo or guilty plea? This would be VERY helpful to many others to know.
