What happens when a district court holds a patent not invalid and infringed (and even assuming damages were awarded), and then subsequent to that final judgment, a PTO reexamination invalidates the patent? Does the judgment still stand?

Good question. I guess Research in Motion (Blackberry) is going to try and answer that question for us...
