What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ohio
Can anyone answer this? We received a summons claiming our home was going into foreclosure, we had 28 days to respond by filing an answer to the complaint. But we contacted the mortgage company and are able to reinstate the loan, we received the letter with the amount to reinstate it and the date it has to be reinstated by. But.. the 28 days will be up before the due date of the reinstatement. If we do not file and answer are we still going to be ok doing the reinstatement??? I just hate to pay a ridiculous amount to get the answer filed if we really dont have to do it. this is all so confusing!!!!

You will need to pay up before the deadline for the answer. In fact, far enough in advance of the deadline so that the foreclosure (essentially a lawsuit) can be dismissed (in writing).

The person you need to be talking to is the person whose name is on the foreclosure summons (the mortgage company's lawyer, perhaps) and arrange the payment through him in exchange for a dismissal.
