What is the name of your state? ohio Received a copy of my credit report from transunion and it showed a state tax lien listed on it -- the lien was paid and released 5 years ago--It is listed on my credit report from experian as released. I called transunion 4 weeks ago and told them they needed to make the correction. I received the corrected report from transunion a few days ago and it still showed up as unpaid so I called them back and they told me I would have to call the state treasurer's office here and have them call transunion. Did that and the state treasurer's office told me they can't call the credit reporting agency that I would have to call the credit reporting agency back myself and explain to them again that the lien has been paid and is released but they would be able to fax me the documents that show it has been paid and is released. I have those documents in hand and would like to know before I get on the phone with transunion for the fourth time the best way to handle this with transunion. Ladynred can you help?

Yes. If you have the satisfaction documents in hand, then you have what you need to make TU correct the entry. However, I'd do one more thing first. Put your dispute in writing and attach the court documents to it. You can call TU and get a fax number to send them the letter and the court docs. If you're going to fight with TU, you need a paper trail. I'd then follow thru with sending the letter and attachment snail mail, certified, just for CYA purposes ;)

ladynred--CYA?

Just one more question--could you clarify what you mean by CYA and what you mean by snail mail--Is that regular email? Thanks

CYA--Ladynred

Heheeee--Love that---and, that's right now I remember what snail mail is--forgot that there is such a thing as a post office since computers and email came around!!!
