What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
Greetings everyone, I relocated to Texas from California in December in pursue of employment. Through months of exchanged correspondents with this employer I decided to make the move. I was told on several occasions that I was "their top guy," I was "next in line for a full time position." The only thing I needed to do was to relocate. In the span of 6 months I have worked a total of 6 weeks. I have experienced extreme hardship both financially and emotionally. As a Marine veteran with a graduate level education and several years experience as a contractor I have had to sell belongings, clean houses, bounce and all other types of odd jobs. Despite the employer's statements of I was next to be hired, they have hired many others based off of favoritism (friends/ethnicity). Had I known the employer did not have the intentions of hiring me I would of never relocated. Now I am stuck in this new city without the money to go back home. I also lost out on other State and Federal opportunities back home.
Please advise on what I should do, I am completely distraught from this and would like to find a solution. I have contacted the employer to find out what their intentions were for me then and now but to no prevail.
Thank you.
-Tony
