I am a divorced woman in Wisconsin. I am considering marrying a man whom is also divorced and pays approx $2200.00 a month in family support for the next 8 years.
His income is $150K +. My income is $30K+. I have approx 70K in assets and he nothing. If we marry and he becomes unemployed...am I obligated to pay his family support from my income? (which is not possible except if I liquidate my assets).

If you were in Indiana, no. Your assets and income are absolutely protected from his ex.

I'm guessing that that would be the case in your state, too, because if it weren't, no NCP who owes a duty of support would ever be able to find someone willing to marry them! ;-)

Check with someone who practices in your state, though, to be sure that my take on this is correct.

Best of luck to you!

However, if you mix those assets into your marriage then you would still not be responsible, but thoses assets become fair game to the ex.

For example, if you opened a joint account and put all 70k into that account, he then buys a 30k car using that money and puts the auto in his name. Or you buy a house together and use the money for downpayment and enhancements to the house etc.. at that point, things get a lot more confusing.
