What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania

I am currently on a mortgage with my ex husband. I am only on the loan, I am not on the deed or anything else. Is there any legal route I can take to remove my name from the loan besides him refinancing it or selling the house? I am looking to purchase my own house and need to get it off my credit.

Was this matter addressed in the divorce? If not, then no.

Most likely not. There's no incentive for the bank to do this and you're not coming off the mortgage unless they permit it (or it gets paid off).
If the divorce order says he'll refi it, then you can go back to the court and see if you can get some pressure put on him. However, if it's not possible (upside down, bad credit, whatever), nothing can make it happen.

Why are you only on the loan and not also on the deed?

No, there is no other "legal route".

Now would you please explain how it is that you and your ex are jointly and severally liable on a mortgage loan that is secured by a home of which you are not a titled owner?

Did you transfer your interest in the home to the ex? Was the home awarded to him in the divorce? Or is it your contention that you've never owned an interest in the home?
