Everyone,

I have question about equal home opportunity. (HUD)

i am living in to condo ( 1BED 1 bath ) since 2 years, last year time of renewal , office manager who is handing lease renewal stuff , she told me they wont reduce rent, infact at time they are giving same size of condo with lower rent than my renewal new rent. I asked them why i am not getting reduced rate , then she told me m, your house is @ good location and bla bla bla, she directory told me either sign lease or vacant apartment. After i found, a guy who lives next to my appartment same floor, he is pay 200$ less per month compare to me.
[ if i pay my rent 1300 he is paying 1100 for same size of apartment ]

My question, is there any legal way i can make it my rent same as others are geting ? Can i sue these community management ? and take difference which i paid extras.... in last year ?
:)

What others pay for a thing is not what it's worth, but what you're willing to pay for it. Location, credit risk and all kinds of things make up what a person will rent property for. Unless you are being charged a different rate for a prohibited reason, your remedy is to move to an apartment you feel is closer to the market rate.

Yup. Number of occupants can affect sewer/water costs. View and exposure. A long term great tenant may be left at a lower rent to encourage them to stay. A LL does not gave to charge the same for all units.
