What is the name of your state? Arizona
My wife was hit from the rear while stopped, the perp took off, no plate-nada. This is covered under uninsured motorist insurance. Now the Ins company wants to get their "injury" adjuster involved. My wife sustained a concussion, and shock, a week later her heads still messed up, cant track visually. Question is: Should I dodge this guy until I get my own representation involved? And then have them go through our Lawyer. Basically we are concerned with the ins company adjuster minimizing the injuries and not providing adequate care, not really looking for a settlement above medical as wages are not an issue.

As a general rule, if you have an accident involving injury & medical care, you should get a lawyer involved.

The fact you're claiming against your own insurance company under uninsured coverage is neither here nor there. They are not going to be 'friendlier' to you because you're a customer. They're going to be looking to minimize their payout, as usual. Approach it like they're the insurance company for the guy who hit you (because they are)

Even if there are no economic damages (lost wages) your wife is still entitled to get pain & suffering damages. These are standard. An injury lawyer can help you get the best result.

thinking it through

since all insurance companies are snakes, I plan to have representation so my wife wont have to deal with them. I never feel like I am on an equal footing with a ins company, there is no "truth in negotiations" law with an insurance company.

do you think they can come back and be vindictive to me because of this???
