I'm in Calif, My question is are you in anyway responsible for a live in partner, who is a subtance abuser and freeks out from time to time, on, or in the property you own by yourself. This is my storie, the gal & I, have been living together on and off for the last few years. Has on serveral occasion went overboard and hert herself on my property, by being drunk and on drugs. when she gets this way I lock myself in my room to avoid her striking me. I do not call the police on her, because the times before they do absoutely nothing when they have came out. Am I responsible for not calling the cops on her if she injures herself when she gets like this?????

A competent attorney could claim that your negligence in not helping to prevent or minimize her injuries or damages when you knew (or should have known) the chances of injury makes you liable for them. And a Court could certainly award her damages, either in whole or in part, due to your negligence.

No one knows what a court might do.... with our without a good attorney.
