My husband and I are getting divorced as he no longer wants to be the father to our adopted son who has reactive attachment disorder. We live in Minnesota, he indicates that he is going to pursue the legal process to un adopt our son. Can he do that?

Oh how freaking sad is this...NO! He cannot just sign away his rights. He is full of sh*t. Man, what a loser. Now, if you remarry and your husband would want to adopt the child, then it could be done. Until then, pursue custody and support. He doesn't HAVE to be a Father to this child if he chooses not to, but he cannot get out of the financial obligations to the child. Get an attorney, go for full custody with the Father paying child support and perhaps some visiation or an open visitation agreement. Then if he wants to see the child he can, and if he does not then so be it. But he cannot undo this adoption. Done, final and he's a legal Father. Good luck! (Gosh, what an a**hole) SORRY!

HomeGuru response: He should file to disown himself from the world.
