What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Born and legal adoption in MS, current residence. NV.
I am a 35 yr old woman that was adopted by my stepfather at 7 years of age. My "father" sexually and physically abused me throughout my childhood. I would love to rid of all connection with him and have that adoption reversed. I have always remained in my biological father life and family and the adoption was done on his part due to financial hardships.
What, if any, are my options here? I think I have the circumstances to modify...
Any advice would be appreciated.

you cannot reverse the adoption. you can however, do an adult adoption and your biological father can adopt you as an adult. this will change your birth certificate.

however, i must add, this legal step will not erase any memories of any physical or sexual abuse you have gone through. you should really see a therapist about that. and i say that will all the respect of a fellow woman who suffered her own story.
