What is the name of your state? South Carolina
Yesterday afternoon my son and his girlfriend were driving down the freeway. A cement company aggregate truck accelerated and smashed his little Miata in the rear end at freeway speeds. He saw him coming but was unable to change lanes due to congestion. He sped forward as far as he could and then the truck again sped up and rammed him a second time. My son who was badly shaken managed to get off of the road and call the police while the driver left the scene.
He has a partial plate number and the name of the company. We went there yesterday and were unable to speak with the head honcho, who was out of the office. Besides the home office here in town there are three other satellite stations, each a franchise type thing. All of the stations own their own trucks and the drivers take the trucks home with them at night. We visited the next closest one to us and the manager there said that none of his trucks fit that description.
I know that the licence plates of these trucks are kept somewhere. But I do not know how to gain access to them. Will the insurance company pursue this or just adjust his rate sky high? How do we find this driver and nail him?
The State Patrol cannot do anything unless we can get a complete licence plate number. More than likely, this Road Rage Freak will do this again. I mentioned to both company employees that it would be in their best interest to get this guy off of the road.
Any suggestions?
