so i live with 2 other girls and when we first moved in i fronted the security deposit. one roommate texted us in a group text stating she was moving out and was going to give me the money she owed me and pay for rent for this month and Dec. she has not paid rent and we had to split it and pay it. is is possible to take her to small claims court with the texts i have and the copy of the lease to have her pay her 2 months rent and the money she owes me ?

She didn't cause damage. Why should should she pay security?

when we first moved in we have to pay first and security deposit. i fronted the deposit. and she was paying me monthly for what her portion was from that and she told me on the 1st i would have the rest of the money and she didnt pay

If she doesn't pay the amount she previously had agreed to pay, you can take her to small claims to collect what is owed. You will want documentation (lease, utility bills, receipts showing past payments, texts, emails) to support your claim. Your other roommate could testify in court as to the payment arrangement agreed to when leasing the unit together.

Good luck.
