Through my own research I'm figuring this all out as well as the info payrollhrguy has said it was just cono using cause I'm on salary
And if I'm understanding correctly if your on salary it has to be a forty hour week at the state minimum wage an if you take what I make a week and divide it by 40 it's like I'm getting g paid 7.50 an hour

Salary has nothing to do with it if your are improperly classified as on salary ...in general the default condition is that you are hourly and being a ticket taker is unlikely to meet the tests for being salaried. This is one place NOT to overstate your duties : read both the FEderal and State rules about who is salaried then tell us if you seem properly classified .

I think in NY , again varied by location, if you make less that $750 a week they cannot properly call a ticket taker a salaried administrator

It may be but it doesn't matter. With a few exceptions the Federal law would still apply. The OP doesn't make enough to qualify for the Federal exemption unless the carnival exemption doesn't require the $455/week minimum.

NY may have tougher penalities due worker if the employer gets it "wrong" up to 100% extra for any pay shortages and a $50 a day penality for not giving employee proper written notice as to pay rates ....I do not keep up on NY details ...I just recall them being " tough " when (if) we bungled NY pay issues

NY also has a very low threshold for the dollar figure at which they will accept a complaint. While I agree this is the first road to follow, if too much OT is owed the OP may do better in small claims court.
