What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL

Hi,
I got hit by the last lay off round. I am now trying to start my own business. I am just at the planning state, but I already have a website so that I could secure the domain name.
Now I need to make sure that I can own my business name.
What exactly do I need to do at the court house and what is that form paper called? (assume name?)
Does someone have a link to the form, I could not find it on the Kane County Cicuit Clerks website.
Many thanks for your help, any other input regarding securing, owning a business name for my dog biz is appreciated?
Happy Monday!:)

Call the courthouse and ask about a business license. The name you put on the application is your business name.
