What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Our current property manager is saying the it is against California law to self-manage a HOA property in California. I live in a 20 unit condo association and want to know the truth. Can the board of directors manage the association with no pay?

Thank you in advance.

**A: have him/her give you a copy of such a law. Then post it here. I would like to see it. Expect to be waiting a long time.

**A: yes, of course. Most of the Board members manage with no pay.
