I have written an ebook containing exercise routines that I want to sell via the internet.

I have added disclaimers in the ebook about checking with a physician first, etc.

What other protections do I need other than a copyright?

If your website will sell something online, it needs at least the following:

1. A privacy policy.

2. A terms of use/service.

3. A disclaimer.

Adding a purchase agreement of sorts will also help immensely.

You'll want to add those if you don't want the FTC to start using their own
scorched-earth tactics against you.

How do I get those on my website? Do I have to consult an atty?

Could I just add a link on my website to a privacy policy and those other two things?

If you were a large corporation, it would be in your best interets to have an attorney draft up policies for you.

But since it just you doing this, you can do it yourself. I sell many products online and created my own Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Disclaimer policies. While there are sites on the web that will create policies for you, I would suggest that you go to several websites and see what sections and terms they give in their policies and then type it up yourself. Takes just a few minutes. Technically, these policies are copyrighted by the creator so you should not just copy it word for word; but there are millions of these on the web so don't worry too much about it if your policies are similar to others. They basically all say the same thing.
