What is the name of your state? Florida
My wife of 16 years informed me last week that she wants us to seperate in order to work out some changes she is going through. She wants me to move out. We have 3 children.
I have no problem giving her some space, but I am afraid that if I leave I may be giving up rights if this turns into a legal issue down the road, and at this point she is not sure what she wants.
Am I digging myself a legal grave if I move out for a while?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Do NOT move out. She "wants space", let her move. You shouldn't have to be uprooted from your home because she decided she "wants space."

You can file for custody/visitation/CS order, this way no matter who moves, both parents' rights will be protected. You do not have to file for a divorce, a petition can be filed for the above, you can find the forms at www.flcourts.org
