I was employed at my company as a quality control manager for 2 years. When I started I was managing the night shift QC room. During this time, the production manager on nights left the company, and I was asked to fill in for him while remaining active in my original position as QC manager. My supervisors liked my work quality. My company made the decision to elimate the night shift. The building was expanded, and everyone went to days. This is when my trouble began. There were two QC rooms--I was over one and Kim was over the other. Kim has been at the company for over eight years and was the Sr. Manager. Kim has never accepted me, for what reasons I don't understand. She began to degrade the my level of competency to upper management as well as to other employees. She told upper management that I was not qualified to be a manager, and should only be an assistant manager at best. I was demoted to assistant manager, Kim took over my position, while Kim's assistant manager (her friend) was promoted to manager. Kim began tracking my every move. I was soon written up at her request for a misspelling on a 650 MG disk. She began having "her workers" log times it took me to perform tasks. Kim made it clear to everyone that she wanted me gone, and upper management sided with her. I was fired after Kim intentionally gave me a disc to check with errors she knew were there. If she had not designed the errors on this disc, I would still have my job. Her lead person (friend) now has my assistant manager position. After I was terminated, a co-worker spoke with the new assistant manager who bragged about how the planned worked perfectly. Upon being told in a meeting of my dismissal, I requested a transfer to any other department--and was told they had nothing for me. There were several open, but nothing for me. Now I have a bad reference, no job, and having trouble finding a job. Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Were the trumped up charges based in any way on you being a member of a protected class -- age, race, sex, color, creed, national origin? Or the result of any whistle blowing acts? Or any union activity? If so there are clear grounds for complaint.
