i live in illinois. i had a child with a woman who i dated for only one month. she decided to keep the child, who is now 7 months old. she wants me to pay child support, plus a lot more. i would be agreeable to give up my parental rights to reduce or eliminate child support. is this possible in illinois? it's not that i don't care about my child, but i can no longer deal with the mother. She has made threats to "fix things" so that I can't see my other child (a 5 1/2 year old from my marriage). I'm only interested in legal advice, not your value judgements.

Oh come on.. it has only been 7 months and you are giving up on your child just because you can not deal with the mother?

The thing is, you do not have to deal with her. Take her to court for ordered visitation and have a judge deal with her.
