Does anyone know if it's legal to host live sex shows in a strip club? As far as I can tell, there's one or two in San Francisco and a few in Vegas, but no one's sure if it's actually legal or not. The only legal info I can gather on it in the United States is a case in which the Oregon Supreme Court struck down two laws against live sex shows, stating that they were unconstitutional because it went against free expression. They cited it as unconstitutional in respect to the Oregon Constitution, but the U.S. Constitution has the same safeguard, so I imagine the U.S. Supreme Court would make the same decision, if it came to that. I live in Florida, if that narrows it down.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Start by checking your local ordinances and work your way up from there.

Following is a link to Florida's Chapter 847 on Obscenity. You can scroll down to Definitions and continue reading from there: http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0800-0899/0847/0847.html

As Zigner said, you will need to check local laws, as well.

On top of an exhausting obscenity fight, they'll get you with the health codes and zoning.
