I am writing from North Carolina. A few months ago, one of the partners of the corporation that I work for sent my name and address to a gay organization. Since then I have received numerous solicitations from various gay organizations. Some of these are QUITE explicit.
I am a happily married heterosexual, father of three daughters. I also am employed as an advanced practice registered nurse. My question is what recourse do I have against my employer? This guy jokes about getting me on this mailing list and admitted that he did it. Do I have legal recourse against him and/or the corporation? Or is it my tough luck that the original organization sold my name on a mailing list?
I know that this may sound like a funny prank. Unfortunately, I worry about one of my children picking up the mail and either realizing what the solicitation is for opening the mail and seeing the explicit ads.
