louisiana....asked project manager for voluntary layoff to take another job he stated he would bring it to up to the client to see if it was possible....left early from work that day...9am at about 11am i suffered a back injury at home.....that evening i was left a message that they had approved my request and for me to return monday and process out.....they have listed me as vol layoff on that friday.....im still paying my premiums which include std**************a mess for sure

question is do i have any ground to file a std claim.....ive been told no by unum..who is my company's policy admin

I have not read your STD policy. But there is no downside to filing the claim. The worst that can happen is that it's denied, and if that's what happens, you're no worse off than if you never filed in the first place.
