Should I request the IRS to audit me?

Minnesota

This may be one of the dumbest questions posted on the board.

Before filing a chapter 13 bankruptcy would it make any sense to request to be audited by the IRS? If I get audited before filing and I end up owing anything I could include the IRS payments in the bankruptcy plan. I have no reason to believe that I owe any tax.

The first thing you learn when you go into the military is, NEVER VOLUNTEER!! That goes double for the IRS!

Besides, couldn't a tax preparer review your past 3 yrs. tax returns and determine if all is well? (And he's on your side!!)

You've heard about Pandora's Box & Can of Worms?? WOW, that question gave me goose bumps!! LOL
