What is the name of your state? Kentucky

I was with this girl on and off for about 7 years, and we have one child together. I left after trying to work it out for a second time, and have been giving her $150 a week CS. We haven't went to court to set CS or visitations. I currently make $52,000 a year. I have made more and less during our relationship. How does the courts determine CS? Should I take her to court and get a locked in CS? She also thinks she is entitled to a truck I bought while we were together just because I used to let her drive it. Am I?

My response:

Oh, Christ - - give her the truck - - and the single-wide trailer, too. What is the problem? You make $52,000.00/yr. and she makes what - - squat?

This is your child you're talking about. Your duty is to maintain YOUR child, and so what if Momma Bear benefits?

Now, the first thing you want to do in the morning is make an appointment for a consultation with a Family Law attorney, to find out your rights and obligations. Then, you may want to file a Petition for visitation, also.

Is this your child?? Do you have reciepts of the $150 a week??? Get a

lawyer with some of the 52,000 you have left. They basically set the rate

at whatever you are earning now, if it changes you or the support office

can get it modified. And it matters not if you give her the truck, as far as

I know. This would only be a "nice" gesture from you and not part of your

support!! If you wait to pay, and you are responsible to pay,

you will have to pay for the child from the time they said "push" "push",

"breathe" "breathe" !! Got it, Doc??

She's dreaming. Tell her she can have it for $100,000 in cash.

Is she on AFDC or any other government programs? If so, you will be responsible to repay the state, so you need to find an attorney, get child support, custody and visitation all hammered into a court order.
