What is the name of your state? Iowa
I interviewed and was offered a position with a compnay here in Des Moines. I countered their offer (5K more) and it was turned down. The reasoning was b/c I would be eligible for the companies "generous annual bonus program" (up to 7% of my salary each quarter). After doing the math, I accepted (signed the offer letter) the position.
The offer letter, signed by Vice President) states "This letter extends our offer of employment at an annualized salary of $xxxxx; paid semi-monthly at a rate of $xxxx. You will be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program, depending on both your individual and overall company performance."
My first bonus was to be paid this month (January). My supervisor told me two weeks ago I didn't qualify for the bonus plan because our project is not operational (per corporate).
I know bonuses were paid to people on other projects so company was successful and I know my performance was A+ (others have written letters regarding).
Do I have any rights?
