What is the name of your state?
MN, but moving to WI...
I am moving to WI soon to "hide" from a stalker....I am trying to avoid leaving a paper trail that she can access, and trying to disguise my identity when I get there.
I know that banks will require my SSN, driver's license, etc. to open a new account, but I am
thinking of just using my middle and last name, and drop my first name off any and all transactions I have in WI.
My question is will a bank allow me to have just my middle and last name on the account? I am not on the run from bad debts, or anything like that, just trying to mislead her or any people she may have looking for me...
BTW, she outright told a deputy that she has people watching my house, and when I expressed concern over that, he said there is nothing they can do...I do feel threatened and helpless....any other ideas?

There is way more to this story that you're not telling. These are pretty drastic measures to take to get away from a girl/woman?

Have you tried a restraining order?

Yes, there is a way lot more to this story.....I didn't want to make the original post too long..
I agree that this seems like a drastic measure to get away from this woman, but I am a 56 yr old widow, in poor health, and am terrified.
This woman is a paranoid delusional, carries a gun, lives "off the grid", and is convinced that I murdered her father ( my husband)....he had terminal lung cancer, lived one month longer than his prognosis, but....she still thinks I murdered him. And, BTW, because of her allegations, his death was investigated by the sheriff's dept. and found to be of natural causes...there are absolutely no indications of murder ( he died in a hospital ICU), except in her mind, but.....she is positive I killed him....
A restraining order is basically worthless , from what I have been told for several reasons...it often will incite the stalker to attack the victim because " No one can tell me what I can't do" ..some 60% homicide victims of stalkers had restraining orders...plus separate papers would have to be served on the people she has watching my house...and I don't know who they are....maybe part of her delusion...I don't know....but I do know that I have the right to live the rest of my natural life in peace, and that won't happen until she no longer knows where I live.

My suggestion to you would be to contact the Social Security Administration and find out if your circumstances would be sufficient to warrant them giving you a NEW SSN. They don't do it for frivolous reasons, but victims of ID theft and domestic violence are two of the reasons they will give out a new #.

Read here, then contact the SSA: http://www.ssa.gov/pubs/10093.html

Since your SSN is THE primary identifier for practically everything, getting a new one, AND changing your name, would defnitely make it extremely difficult for the whacko to find you.
