Hi, I am on H4 (dependant visa) currently. My H1B (change of status) has been picked up in this years lottery. However the same is in RFE (Request for further evidence). As a back up, I also had an admit for Master from a US university. However I had not filed the change of status from H4 to F1 since change of status from H4 to H1 is already in play. Since the same is in RFE now, I wish to go ahead and explore the option of studying, so that I do not waste a year. If my H1B gets approved. I would want to work rather than continue my studies. My question is
1. Can I go ahead and file another change of status (H4to F1) while my change of status (H4 to F1) is pending, without affecting the same? And can I withdraw the former if my H1B gets cleared?
2. What can be the best approach in my scenario? I was thinking of continuing education on H4, until my H1B RFE gets cleared.

It is unlikely you will be able to get a change of status to F-1 before classes start in the fall.
