What is the name of your state? Arizona
When Mother passed my sister handled her affairs. The Will said that everything was to be split 5 ways between us five kids.

My sister's name was one of my mother's accounts which held which held $250,000. My sister says this money is not included in the 5 way split and she is going to keep it. She has broken off communication with us in an attempt to keep financial information from us out of state syblings.

My first question is how can we compel her to split the $250K?
My second question is there a time limit as to when we have to take legal action against her in Yuma County, Arizona?

Talk to a lawyer yesterday. This is far too much money for you to waste time here. You sister has already expressed an interest in stealing the money son don't expect to have her suddenly change her mind and start passing out cash. Prepare for a legal fight.

So, ma wanted sis to have this money, but y'all do not want sis to have it. Is that the deal?

Until you come back and tell us EXACTLY HOW the account is held, the answer is "you can't compel anything".
My second question is there a time limit as to when we have to take legal action against her in Yuma County, Arizona?
there is nothing you can do until you answer the above question.

Hello all and thanks for replies,

The information I have is that it was a "joint tenancy" account.

If this type of account warrants legal action by me is there a statute of limitations?
Thanks,

Garland, we do not care about the information you have.

BB said, "Until you come back and tell us EXACTLY HOW the account is held, the answer is 'you can't compel anything'."

Tell me which word or words in BB's directions you did not understand and I will explain it/them to you.

Is sister also the executor of the estate?

This money is hers and there is nothing you can do to get it. She was smart enough to ask mom to put her name on there or mom wanted to do it anyway.

Aren't there other assets in the estate that you all will be splitting?
