What is the name of your state? FL

I have recently opened a business in Florida and it has apparently irritated another local store to the point that they began dragging our name through the mud before our doors were ever open. To date, they have posted 10+ negative "blogs" about our business on their MySpace page, accusing us of everything from "copying them" to being "addicted to crack". They go on to speak poorly of our merchandise and have even been observed stealing our flyers and advertising materials from other local businesses and replacing them with their own.

I'd like to think that karma will take care of this, but I've been printing out all of the negativity they've presented and supplied my attorney with it. Is it worth pushing for a cease and decist?

And to answer your question, no. No one at our business has ever smoked crack.

Yes, it is worth pushing for a "cease and desist" order. All activities they've initiated against you that are detrimental to your new business should be stopped. They should be told to remove the defamatory material from their blogs. Courts will protect business reputations from false and defamatory comments made, and egregious actions perpetrated by others against a business.
