my friend and her boyfriend are separating and he is taking her to court for full custody of their year old son, in his statement to the court he said that she hangs out with her friend (naming me) and they smoke a lot of pot. i have only met her boyfriend on a few occations in public places, he has never been to my house. this is in the state of south carolina. would this be considered slander against me?

So.... do you smoke a lot of pot with his former lady friend? If so, then it's not slanderous. If not, then maybe it is. Boils down to the definition of "a lot" I guess.

Truth is the perfect defense to a slander/libel accusation, if it's true it can be neither.
