I moved to the US in Jan 1999,recieved permission to work April 1999 (my wife is American)and have worked since then.I recieved my Green card this month.Since April 1999 I have social security and medicare deducted from my wages, although, I don't believe I have been entitled to any social security or medicare benefits since my application for a Green card in January 1999.I understand tax, but why should I pay anything else since I also have a valid British social security number which entitles me to benefits there, because I paid in there for 20 years.I would appreciate any help with this question.caledoniathistle@cs.com
