I have a bill in collections in the state of Alabama. The last activity was 08/95. What is the SoL on this debt? I am interested in negotiating a settlement, especially if it is possible I will be sued in the next 6 months! I haven't heard anything about it in years, but I'd like to try to get it paid and off my Credit Report. Thank you, Mike

My response:

S.O.L. is 6 years on both written and oral contracts. Therefore, you get to be concerned about this until August of 2001.
