Sorry about being from the UK but I was just wondering if I could get a general response.

Can you use a song that you wrote the music & co wrote the lyrics and melody line, after the band splits?

I wrote a song with someone, which I wrote the music for, and we co wrote the lyrics and melody line together. She has now left the band and I was wondering, can I perform the song in public with a different singer, as she technically walked out on the band. How much of the song would I have to change, if any to be able to use it in public?

Also can I still have them up on my myspace page?

Because the site does only deal in US law, it's unlikely anyone can answer your question.

(The laws in the UK and US can differ so much that it's just not possible to compare)
