What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? : Illinois
ok i am not looking to get out of this ticket completely, i am looking for advice.
I was coming home on route 30 in illinois, the speed limit was 55 MPH, middle of the day today on friday, practically no traffic at all, none on my side of the road at all. I could see to the horizon so i wasn't really worried about speed ( my fault and i accept that) i set my cruise control to 70 and was just listening to music. Then i noticed the lights, i looked down and my speedo still said 70, i slowed down and when then when the officer came to my window he asked if there was a reason i was going 104. i could not belive it i told him that i set my cruise control for 70 and i admit guilt for speeding, but i could not belive 104, i asked to see the radar and he had me walk to his cruiser and i saw on the dash it did indeed say i was going 104 MPH.
I have no words for this i did receive a ticket for 104/55. From what i understand a even a first time offense going more than 40mph over is means to revoke my license. I am willing to pay but as im starting a job in the next week or two that REQUIRES me to drive from client to client, i simply cannot loose my license. Does anyone know if perhaps i can offer to take driving classes or SOMETHING that will at least allow me to keep my license?
