So I currently have a parking and speeding citation in Los Angeles. I could contest the parking, but I'm not going to because I'd rather just pay it off and leave. The problem is, I misplaces the ticket and can't find it. My first question is: is there some way I can still pay it off without the citation without the ticket number?
My second question is about the speeding ticket. It has a court date for February, but I'll be out of state by then. The CHP officer told me I don't have to go as long as I pay it off, but that doesn't make much sense to me. It's my first ticket so I don't know if it's supposed to have the fine on it or where I can pay it off. Is there some way I can pay it off without appearing in court?
Now, let's say I don't pay either fine and just leave. The car is registered in my mom's name. Could anything happen to her if I don't pay the tickets? I'd prefer to just pay them off and leave, but I don't plan on sticking around for the new year just for a court date.
