What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan. So I was doing 85 in a 50 and was going in the opposite direction of the cop and as I was going over the hill I noticed the lights and I never get in trouble so I freaked out and froze up till about half way down and then I just hit the breaks my car spun around went into a ditch and hit a tree this is al before the cop came over the hill so he had no idea what had happened. So he got me or of my car cuffed me and put me in his truck. He asked me if I could search your car I said yes sir you may, because I have nothing to hid he did and they found nothing obviously I'm a good kid (I'm 19). Then he got in the truck read me my rights asked me what tow company I preferred then took me to jail I was never breathalyzed or drug tested either. So there was no reason for me to end up in jail. I confirmed this with my uncle whose a head detective and he's like he had no reason to imprison me. So can I use this in court? Also I was never told why I was arrested. He did ask me do I know how fast I was going and I said yes sir abot 85 at the top of the hill. I was respectful obviously since I got a uncle whose a cop i know what they go threw. But I never actually was told why I went to jail. Can I use this as well? Also I was crying as they were stripping me because I had no clue why I was there and I've heard terrible things about jail. So one of the cops told me to turn around and look at him I obviously said yes sir and did so. He's told me that if I didn't man up someone in there would make me there bitch. So I need to straighten up or I'll get eaten alive. Which only terrifies me more and made me cry more. I was told that's against code as well. I just need to know what I should do. I physically terrified and plan to be a vet and having a misdemeanor and points on my record will make it hard to get my foot in the door please help.

By the way, reckless driving is a misdemeanor in Michigan so despite what your "head detective" uncle told you, you can (and obviously were) arrested for this offense. Punishment can include up to 93 days in jail.

Sounds like you need a lawyer.
